Stenabolic, also known as SR-9009, is a research chemical that falls under the category of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs). A recent study on diet-induced obese mice treated with SR9009 and SR9011 (i.e., two times a day for 30 days) has been reported to display decreased fat mass and markedly improved dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia.
The activation of REV-ERB leads to the enhancement of circadian rhythm observed in mice. This affects behavior, sleep cycle, and some functions related to an increment in energy production.
Another study found that mice administered SR-9009 could run longer distances and for longer durations than vehicle-treated mice. This research compound also increased the number of total and active mitochondria.

How Does Stenabolic Work?
Stenabolic SR-9009 works by binding to REV-ERBα in the body.
REV-ERBs are proteins that regulate circadian rhythms (24-hour cycles that are part of the body’s clock). Circadian rhythms carry out various crucial functions in the body. These include eating habits and digestion, cycles of alertness and sleepiness, and body temperature.
REV-ERBs are also proven to promote fat burning and turn off genes responsible for storing fat. In an In Vivo study, treatment of diet-induced obese mice with a REV-ERB agonist (SR9009) decreased obesity by reducing fat mass.
Stenabolic SR-9009 Research
Various animal studies have been conducted on Stenabolic SR-9009. These have demonstrated the positive effects of this research compound on lipid and glucose metabolism, skeletal muscle growth, blood cholesterol levels, endurance, and other functions.

In a study involving rats with ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI), SR-9009 treatment greatly diminished VILI-induced lung edema, inflammatory cell infiltration, and the production of the pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF-α (the protein that causes inflammation in response to infection).

In a report, researchers examined the effects of REV-ERB agonists on patterns of sleep and wakefulness and found that the compounds increase wakefulness. Furthermore, it was found during the analysis that the compounds also decreased anxiety-like behavior.
